My name is Claire, I was born on May 30, 1967 in Saint Pierre and Miquelon. I was brought up amid the rhythms of foreign accents carried by the winds into the port and streets of Saint Pierre.

That was the great period of sea-fishing on the banks of Newfoundland, when there was no talk of quotas or limited fishing zones, and the nets brimmed with codfish. The factory ships operated to full capacity and all of these boats, registered in Asia, Europe and America, made stopovers in the archipelago.

A map of the world covered an entire section of one of the walls in my bedroom. Another world existed and I said to myself: “When I’m older, I’ll venture beyond the seas, too!”

Happy with my family and social life, my friends are very important to me, and the desire to travel has never left me!
